Alistair here, the Founder of Drawboard. I want to get you ready for some huge updates coming soon and share what we’ve recently released.
Alistair Michener
We’re working on some major updates to Drawboard PDF. Below I've shared a sneak peak of some of the things we're working on on top of what we’ve recently released, which I’ll highlight here first.
New features on Drawboard PDF Windows:
• A Snapshot tool that lets you take snippets of PDF vector content and paste elsewhere • Right click menus, so you can select from options where your mouse is. More options coming soon here too. • Custom keyboard shortcuts to help you work faster • Cursor improvements, including greater feedback for cursor state changes, smart text detection, long-click to select when in pan mode, and the ability to see which tool you have selected from an indicator in the cursor • Dark mode • Microsoft Office to PDF conversion. Convert any docx, ppt, etc to a PDF right in Drawboard PDF • Partial erase so that you can erase partial sections of your ink • Shapes now have Line Styles available (e.g. dashed or dotted lines) • More grids and Line templates, either as a baked-in background or as a temporary overlay while you write • More layout options for your canvas. For better canvas visibility, you can now have your top and left-side menus automatically hidden and hover to have them appear (Go to Settings → View & Layout to configure)
New features on Drawboard PDF iOS:
• Grids and Line templates as baked-in backgrounds • Saved signatures • Measurement Tools • Callout annotations • Dashed and dotted Line Styles • Dark mode • Partial erase • Improved cursor functionality including tool icons, text select detection, long-press in pan to select • Drag and drop images. Drag images from other applications, webpages or your desktop and drop directly onto the canvas
Download the iOS app here for your iPad or iPhone. It also works on M1 & M2 Macs.
A sneak peek of things we’re actively working on to get you excited
• Windows: Multiple windows so that you can view documents side-by-side • Windows: Bringing back the left hand side tabs for those old school users who loved it like this • Windows: A better canvas experience with how to select and edit annotations • iOS: Searchable ink so that you can search and find text written in ink • iOS: Deeplinking, so you can open up shared links straight into our app • Cross platform: A newer and better document builder to merge and split documents
We’re going to be working on new things soon too like saved annotations (e.g. stamps, symbols, stickers, etc.), a new markup history, more advanced annotations and many others. We’re packing power into the app!
Also, don’t forget:
• With SSO, you can now securely sign in to Drawboard PDF with Google, Apple or Microsoft • You can auto-sync changes between your Windows, iOS and web apps in real-time, Google Docs style • We have Quick Tools free to use in the web to quickly do lots of on the spot actions • We've made security and encryption even more important and are currently working towards SOC2 certification. More on this very soon • Keep up-to-date with what's new via the scholar hat in-app:
Kind regards,
Alistair
